LUXURY SWISS WATCHMAKER CONTINUES A WORLD-FIRST AND DECADE LONG LEGACY WITH THE SPORT
Hublot and Juventus are a pairing that stands for passion, records and sports adrenaline. Two giants, the first in the world of Haute Horlogerie, the second in football, celebrated their long-standing partnership at Crown Tower’s Monards Store on Monday 25 July, in celebration of the team’s Australia summer tour. Hot on the heels of the UEFA EURO2016™, where Hublot served as the Official Watch, this partnership and timepiece are another example of Hublot’s love for global “football” and ongoing support of the “Hublot Loves Football” campaign launched during FIFA World Cup Brazil™ in summer 2014 as well the second campaign presented during the UEFA EURO2016TM.
Friend of Hublot, David Trezeguet, who is currently in Australia supporting Juventus’ presence at the 2016 International Champions Cup was the special guest during the VIP celebration. Having scored 135 goals in 245 league appearances for Juventus overall, his accomplishments with the club make him the highest foreign scorer in their history. Trezeguet joined alongside Daniele Rugani and Paulo Dybala, players from the Serie A TIM 2015-2016 winning team for the occasion. VIP guests had the chance to view Hublot’s latest novelties within Monard’s shop-in-shop.
From being the first luxury brand to align with football in 2006, and for the ten years following, Hublot has led its established commitment to football ever since. Whether official ambassadors, or friends of the brand, they are all part of the « Hublot Loves Football » world. Through this legacy, Hublot maintain relationships with some of the most prestigious clubs in the world (Juventus, Ajax of Amsterdam, Bayern of München and Chelsea).
The partnership between Hublot and Juventus even resulted in a special limited edition Big Bang Unico Bi-Retrograde Juventus released in late 2015.
“Be first, be unique, be different”. This was the philosophy upon which Hublot built up an excellent reputation in just a few decades on the very competitive high-quality timepiece market. The focus is perfectly ingrained in the idea of the art of fusion, which Hublot has applied since 1980 when it designed its first case combining natural rubber and gold with a shape inspired by a ship’s porthole. When Jean-Claude Biver and Ricardo Guadalupe took the helm of the brand in 2004, and they made this art of fusion into a founding spirit that they deployed as they wished, combining traditional watchmaking savoir-faire with the most cutting-edge technologies and unexpected materials. In 2005, the Big Bang collection, a chronograph with an elegant and contemporary design, enjoyed international success. This year marks the 10th Anniversary of ALL BLACK, a concept created by Hublot to create a watch with blackened hands, indexes, dial and date, rendering a timepiece not explicitly about telling time.
In its 6,000 m2 Manufacture on Lake Geneva in Switzerland, Hublot is constantly pushing back the boundaries of horological innovation.
