La Carrera Panamericana in Tuxla Gutierrez, Chiapas
TAG Heuer’s driver; Hilaire Damiron set the tone of this year Carrera Panamericana by swiping away the pole position of the qualifying stage.
What a return in the starting block for the Swiss brand, after last year victory from Erik Coma, former formula 1 driver who against all odds (novice, rain, mechanical drawbacks, …) won this race on his first attempt, TAG Heuer’s team strikes again.
The Carrera Panamericana is the ultimate road race. Here we are blocking official highway and main street to live a crazy unique experience inside vintage cars mounted with modern engines close to NASCAR ones. Inside those pretty monsters; history meets with modernity and this is one of the reasons why TAG Heuer Carrera collection which took its original name from this event is so at ease there.
The price to pay to witness this incredible journey; is a very early start which is worth it as one can see the countryside of Mexico in a state that very few people can witness specially for those living in Europe or even in America. This competition units over 15 different nationalities in the 80 registered cars in the year’s race.
Day 0 or the return to the origins as we call it here, have blessed the official driver of TAG Heuer, Hilaire Damiron & his co-pilot/wife Laura who reaped their first victory. Showing to the other competitors that they were ready to honor the motto and mindset carried by the Swiss watch brand « DONT CRACK UNDER PRESSURE ».
