One glance is all it takes.
Two wide-open eyes, roving pupils, a crown that looks lifted straight from a fairy tale and an expression that is hard to pin down, somewhere between amusement, strangeness and mischief. The Unfrogettable by Louis Erard and Konstantin Chaykin is definitely not a watch like any other.

Having established this singular face on the independent watchmaking scene, the two houses are now giving it two new personalities. The Louis Erard x Konstantin Chaykin Unfrogettable returns in two new versions named Turquoise and Brown.
Same gaze. Same mechanics. Same character.
But two radically different moods.
A creature turned signature

With the Unfrogettable, Louis Erard and Konstantin Chaykin have created far more than an original watch.
The creature is instantly recognisable. Its face alone is a genuine visual signature, so much so that there is no need to read the name on the dial to know what you are looking at.
What sets this creation apart is above all its horizontal regulator-style display. Hours are shown at 9 o’clock and seconds at 3 o’clock, while a central arrow-shaped hand indicates the minutes.
But here, mechanics turn into expression.
The discs displaying the hours and seconds become the character’s eyes. The pupils rotate as time passes and literally bring the dial to life.
The watch no longer simply tells the time. It seems to be watching its wearer.
Two colours, two characters

For these new interpretations, Louis Erard and Konstantin Chaykin did not set out to transform their creature.
They chose to change its mood instead.
The Turquoise version embraces a bright, electric and slightly surreal personality. The Brown version, by contrast, adopts a warmer, deeper, almost nocturnal atmosphere.
Yet the face remains exactly the same.
That is precisely what makes the exercise interesting: changing how a character is perceived without touching its fundamental features.
At 6 o’clock, the signature « Louis Erard ♥ Konstantin Chaykin » appears like a discreet message left in plain sight. A kind of affectionate declaration woven into the design.
Unfrogettable Turquoise: an explosion of colour

The Turquoise version plays with a particularly expressive palette.
The base dial features a light turquoise grained finish, while the sub-dials take on deep blue-green tones. The minute ring also combines two shades, with an intense blue-green in its upper half and purple in its lower half.
The rhodium-plated discs and hands bring a cooler touch to the whole and keep the display easy to read despite the chromatic richness of the dial.
Green luminescent details further heighten the lively character of the composition.
The pupils, the crown and the various facial features seem to belong to a creature from a world where mechanical watchmaking has met fantasy illustration.
Limited to 178 pieces, this Unfrogettable Turquoise bears the reference 85340AA03.BVA192.
Unfrogettable Brown: a more earthly creature

With the Brown version, the atmosphere changes radically.
Turquoise gives way to various shades of brown, ochre and warm metallic accents.
The base dial has a light brown grained finish, while the sub-dials take on a dark brown hue. The minute ring in turn plays on two shades, pairing dark brown with ochre.
This time, the metallic elements of the face and display receive a 5N treatment. The discs, the central hand and the crown thus gain a particular warmth that contrasts with the earthy tones of the dial.
The dark brown pupils retain their characteristic expression, while touches of green Super-LumiNova ensure legibility in the dark.
The Brown is also limited to 178 pieces and bears the reference 85340AA04.BVA193.
A case that gives the character a body

The Unfrogettable does more than draw a frog on a dial.
The character seems to literally inhabit its case.
Measuring 40 mm in diameter, the case is made of Grade 5 titanium, a material that allows for a lightweight construction while keeping a strong presence on the wrist.
The surfaces alternate satin-brushed finishes and polished curves, giving the case a succession of volumes that reinforce its sculptural character.
But the most playful element is probably found at 12 o’clock.
The crown takes the shape of an actual royal crown.
On the Turquoise version, it is made of polished Grade 5 titanium. On the Brown, it receives a 5N PVD treatment that echoes the warm metallic elements of the dial.
Function thus becomes an aesthetic feature in its own right.
A mechanical regulator that plays with the gaze

Behind this playful appearance lies a thoroughly serious watchmaking architecture.
Both versions are powered by the Sellita SW266-1 automatic calibre, a regulator-type movement beating at 4 Hz, or 28,800 vibrations per hour.
It has 31 jewels and offers a power reserve of around 38 hours.
Its display is entirely devoted to the character.
At 9 o’clock, the hours disc forms the first eye. At 3 o’clock, the seconds disc forms the second. Between them, the central arrow-shaped hand sweeps across the face to indicate the minutes.
Time thus becomes a graphic expression.
The movement is visible through the transparent caseback and features a specially crafted openworked oscillating weight, adorned with the Louis Erard symbol in black.
Black armour from Japan

To dress this creature, Louis Erard and Konstantin Chaykin chose a material that also deserves attention.
Both versions come on a black Himeji Kurozan leather strap, also known as « black diamond leather ».
This leather comes from a historic Japanese tannery. It is naturally tanned, then worked by hand before receiving an Urushi lacquer finish, following an ancestral Japanese tradition.
On the Turquoise, the strap features purple stitching and a matching leather lining. The Brown version takes a more understated approach, with black stitching and lining.
In both cases, the strap is fitted with a Grade 5 titanium pin buckle and a quick-release system.
A detail that makes it easy to change style without tools.
A creation at the crossroads of several worlds

The Unfrogettable is interesting precisely because it refuses to choose between disciplines.
It borrows its mechanics and precision from Swiss watchmaking. It draws on Konstantin Chaykin’s world for its taste for mechanical characters and displays that tell a story. Finally, it adds an almost artistic dimension through an instantly recognisable face.
The creature also evokes several cultural references cited by its creators: Slavic myth, Japanese symbolism and the watchmaking expertise of the Swiss Jura.
Three different worlds coming together within a few dozen millimetres.
Two new expressions for the same creature

With the Unfrogettable Turquoise and Brown, Louis Erard and Konstantin Chaykin show that a strong identity can evolve without losing its character.
The gaze stays the same.
The pupils keep turning.
The crown remains its distinctive mark.
But colour transforms the personality we perceive.
Turquoise brings light, freshness and a touch of surrealism. Brown favours earthy tones, depth and golden accents.
Two interpretations, then. Two atmospheres. But a single creature.
Each produced in just 178 pieces, the new Louis Erard x Konstantin Chaykin Unfrogettable watches belong to that strand of independent watchmaking which no longer hesitates to treat the timepiece as a genuine creative playground.
And when a watch’s eyes start looking back at you, it is hard to claim you did not notice the time.

A watch born from the collaboration between Louis Erard and Konstantin Chaykin, whose dial forms the face of a frog. Its regulator display serves the expression: the hours disc at 9 o’clock and the seconds disc at 3 o’clock form the eyes, while a central arrow-shaped hand indicates the minutes.
The Turquoise combines a light turquoise grained dial, blue-green sub-dials and a polished titanium crown. The Brown plays on browns and ochre, with metallic elements and a crown in 5N treatment. Both keep the same face and the same mechanics.
Each version is limited to 178 pieces: reference 85340AA03.BVA192 for the Turquoise and 85340AA04.BVA193 for the Brown.
