After taking its first steps with a tourbillon watch of strong character, the young Parisian house INERCY opens a new chapter in its story with COMPASS. This automatic mechanical collection blends a spirit of exploration, urban elegance and genuine versatility. Two versions, Dark and Light, a Swiss La Joux-Perret G101 calibre and a production limited to 150 pieces per version make up this new proposition, unveiled in preview to the readers and friends of Passion Horlogère in Paris.

Some names already tell part of the story. COMPASS undeniably belongs in that category. At INERCY, the choice is no marketing gimmick. From the outset, the young Parisian brand has cultivated a special relationship with direction, with the road travelled and, naturally, with the time it takes to travel it. Founded in Paris in 2020, it spent several years on development and testing before unveiling its first collection, ONE.

The brand itself explains that COMPASS represents more than four years of thinking, prototypes and fine-tuning. Its founder Alexis Szewezuk describes the launch as a major new stage in the INERCY adventure. With this newcomer, the message stays the same, but the watchmaking approach changes noticeably.

From ONE to COMPASS
INERCY first made its name with ONE, a mechanical collection in which the tourbillon was naturally the main horological argument. The aesthetic world of that first watch already drew heavily on the compass, with indexes referring to the cardinal points and a philosophy linking direction, choice and our relationship with time. COMPASS picks up that common thread but switches to a radically different register.

The idea here is no longer to put a spectacular complication centre stage, but to design a mechanical watch able to accompany its owner through very different situations. INERCY even talks about the GADA concept, “Go Anywhere, Do Anything”: a watch that can move from an urban setting to more adventurous activities without losing its aesthetic coherence. A philosophy that takes shape in particularly reasonable dimensions.
39 mm: a balanced choice
The 316L stainless steel case measures 39 mm in diameter and just 10 mm thick. These proportions make a lot of sense for a watch whose purpose is precisely to cover many uses. COMPASS keeps enough wrist presence while slipping easily under a shirt cuff. Water resistance of 10 ATM, or 100 metres, widens its playing field even further.
Yet its most instantly recognisable visual feature lies elsewhere. Two crowns sit symmetrically at 3 and 9 o’clock. The first handles the usual time-setting functions, while the second operates the bidirectional inner bezel ring. Beyond the aesthetic originality it gives the case, this layout clearly separates the controls.
A compass… without a mechanical complication
This is where COMPASS becomes more interesting than a simple three-hander dressed in adventure vocabulary. Its inner bezel ring serves two purposes: timer and solar compass. It is operated by the dedicated crown and turns in both directions. An important point: this is of course not a magnetic compass built into the movement.

A solar compass uses the position of the sun and the time shown on the dial to give an approximate reading of the cardinal points. It is a traditional, simple solution, perfectly in keeping with the spirit the watch lays claim to. INERCY thus manages to bring in a genuine instrument dimension without weighing the piece down mechanically.
Dark or Light
Two faces are on offer. The COMPASS Dark features a deep black dial with a fine grained finish, while the COMPASS Light plays on contrast with a white dial. In both cases, the layered construction and the work on the inner ring add visual depth.

In the centre, a thin circular metal groove structures the dial. The “INERCY PARIS” signature sits at 12 o’clock, while “COMPASS” appears at 6 o’clock. The whole remains deliberately legible.

The hour and minute hands are Dauphine-shaped and filled with white Super-LumiNova. The indexes also offer particularly good night-time legibility, as shown by the photo of the watch in the dark on the last page of the press kit. But one detail deserves special attention.
A seconds hand that points the way
The seconds hand alone becomes a small aesthetic signature of COMPASS.

Its double-ended design directly recalls a compass needle, with a red tip that immediately catches the eye. INERCY chose aluminium to make it. Its low mass makes it possible to extend the hand on both sides of its axis while keeping it balanced and limiting the stress on the movement. A detail, admittedly, but exactly the kind of detail that gives a watch its personality.

La Joux-Perret G101: the Swiss choice
Under the dial, INERCY also moves up a level by adopting the La Joux-Perret G101. This Swiss automatic mechanical movement beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and offers a comfortable 68-hour power reserve. In theory, the watch can be taken off on Friday evening and still be running on Monday morning.

The movement is visible through a sapphire crystal caseback and is fitted for the occasion with an exclusive INERCY oscillating weight, giving its own identity to a mechanism that is not hidden from view. The brand pairs this mechanical choice with a particularly strong commitment: a lifetime warranty. For a young independent house, that promise is worth highlighting.

Two straps for two personalities
The versatility COMPASS lays claim to extends to its strap. Each watch comes with two options: a black nubuck calfskin leather strap, more urban and dressy, and a perforated black FKM strap, better suited to sport or getaways.

The pin buckle was also specially developed and echoes the case’s different finishes, with grained, polished and brushed surfaces. A simple strap change is enough to noticeably alter the watch’s personality.
A preview with Passion Horlogère readers
Before its official presentation, COMPASS had already left the secrecy of the workshops. On Monday 28 September 2026, some fifty readers and friends of Passion Horlogère gathered in Paris to discover the new INERCY collection in preview. An event deliberately focused on conviviality and watchmaking discovery.

Alexis Szewezuk, founder of INERCY, was there to present the COMPASS watches in person, tell the story of their genesis and, above all, let guests handle them. Both versions could be freely examined, tried on and handled.

A fitting way, in the end, to present a watch whose versatility is one of its main selling points: rather than relying on photos and a spec sheet, everyone could judge its proportions, the handling of its second crown and the operation of its inner bezel ring. The meeting also reflects an approach dear to Passion Horlogère: taking watchmaking off the screen and putting watches back into the hands of enthusiasts.
