Mondaine introduces the Mondaine/SBB Classic with mechanical movement.

Self-winding mechanical watches are synonymous with traditional fine timepieces. As this trend continues to grow, for many watch connoisseurs only a mechanical watch is considered to be a true watch. For several years, they have defined and dominated a major trend in the watch industry. Mondaine, the iconic Swiss watch brand, has picked up on this trend and is pleased to introduce the Mondaine / SBB Classic Automatic in two sizes—the 33mm version for a smaller wrist and the 40mm version for a larger face.

The new Mondaine / SBB Classic Automatic timepiece is a classic design with a mechanical heart. The scratch resistant and anti-reflective coated sapphire crystal allows a clear view of the dial. If the timepiece is turned upside down, the transparent case back (also made from sapphire crystal) shows the mechanical movement with rotating wheels, springs and screws. The matte stainless steel case underlines the simplicity of the straight style. Standout features of the Mondaine / SBB Classic Automatic watch includes a day-date indicator on the 40 mm version and a date for the 33 mm version.

Invisible when on the wrist, the sleek red lining of the band is the perfect relection of Mondai-ne’s signature red second hand. This red hot timepiece gives Mondaine’s community of connoisseurs and faithful fans an exquisite yet subtle twist on an iconic classic and enviable addition to their collection—a true red lining.

These styles are evidence of classic Swiss Made quality and are available beginning June 2014 at authorized, professional watch dealers; accompanied by a two-year warranty and backed by the Mondaine International Service Network (MISO). Suggested retail price from CHF 850 (950—).
