With the new Astron HAB005 and HAB006, Seiko pairs one of its most advanced technologies with two spectacular dials inspired by the facets of a quartz crystal. Available in Crystal Green and Crystal Pink, these limited editions combine satellite precision, a chronograph, dual time and versatility.
There are names that on their own sum up part of watchmaking history. Astron unquestionably belongs to that category. On 25 December 1969, Seiko unveiled the world’s first commercially available quartz wristwatch. More than four decades later, in 2012, the Japanese manufacture revived the name with the first GPS solar watch, able to determine its wearer’s time zone through satellite signals while drawing its energy from light.
In 2026, quartz is no longer merely the historic heart of the Astron collection. It also becomes its main aesthetic source of inspiration.

Dials with crystalline reflections
The Seiko Astron HAB005 and HAB006 stand out immediately with their brand-new dial. Its stamped surface reproduces a succession of irregular facets recalling the shards and reliefs of a quartz crystal.
The HAB005 reference adopts a Crystal Green hue, fresh and luminous, evoking green quartz shot through with light. The HAB006 is bolder with its Crystal Pink dial, inspired by the delicate shades of rose quartz. In both cases, the pattern subtly changes appearance depending on the orientation of the wrist and the intensity of the light.
These colours nevertheless do not turn the Astron into mere styling exercises. The black sub-dials, the dark peripheral minute track and the metallic indices maintain a strong technical identity. This contrast structures the dial and makes the many indications easy to read without softening its spectacular character.
The HAB005 has a mineral, sporty personality, while the HAB006 brings a more unexpected touch to the collection’s generally very technological world. Two very different interpretations, yet united by the same architecture.
A case sculpted from titanium
Both watches are housed in a titanium case measuring 43.4 mm in diameter and 12.4 mm thick. Its dimensions clearly assert the Astron’s presence on the wrist, but the use of titanium helps keep the weight in check.
The case retains the dynamic, angular design characteristic of the latest Astron generations. The various facets alternate brushed surfaces and polished flanks, accentuating the volumes and the play of light. This geometric construction establishes a natural link with the crystalline reliefs of the dial.
The titanium of the case, bezel and bracelet receives an ultra-hard coating intended to better protect the surfaces. The whole is completed by a sapphire crystal featuring the Super-Clear anti-reflective treatment. The stated 10 bar water resistance makes these Astron models suitable for demanding daily use and easily accompanies them on a journey.
The GPS Solar calibre 5X63 at the heart of the system
Beneath their coloured dials, the HAB005 and HAB006 carry the GPS Solar calibre 5X63, which combines a Dual-Time function and a chronograph.
Simply by receiving a GPS signal, the watch can adjust the time and the time zone corresponding to its user’s position. The world time function supports 38 time zones, while daylight saving time can be adjusted automatically.
The time-transfer function also allows the main time and the time shown on the secondary sub-dial to be swapped quickly. A particularly practical feature when travelling regularly between two countries or when wishing to keep one’s home time on permanent display.
The chronograph measures elapsed times of up to 24 hours, with an accuracy of 1/20 of a second. The counter at 9 o’clock displays the fractions of a second, while the one at 6 o’clock records the hours and minutes when the chronograph is running. The calibre also features a perpetual calendar programmed until 28 February 2100.
When GPS reception is not available, the movement keeps a stated accuracy of plus or minus 15 seconds per month. Once fully charged, it has an autonomy of about six months, reaching nearly two years when the power-saving function is engaged.
A new quick-change system
Seiko also introduces on these models a system for replacing the strap without any tools. A simple press on a button releases the titanium bracelet, while the new strap clips directly into the case.
Each watch is therefore accompanied by an additional black silicone strap. It reinforces the Astron’s sporty character while bringing out the colour of the dial. Above all, it allows the watch’s personality to be changed quickly: dressier on its integrated titanium bracelet, more casual and functional on silicone.
Both straps are delivered in a dedicated nylon case specially designed for these limited editions.
Two singular Astron models, yet always geared towards travel
With the HAB005 and HAB006, Seiko avoids reducing the Astron to a mere technological demonstration. Satellite precision, solar charging and the functional richness of the calibre 5X63 remain very much present, but here they are wrapped in a more expressive proposition.
The crystalline pattern adds relief to a dial that is nevertheless very structured. The Crystal Green and Crystal Pink colours introduce a form of lightness into a world dominated by performance, time zones and satellite information. As for the interchangeable strap, it reinforces the collection’s travel-oriented and versatile calling.
Offered at a recommended retail price of 3,000 euros, the Seiko Astron HAB005 and HAB006 are produced in 1,200 pieces each. They have been available since July 2026 in Seiko boutiques and from authorised retailers.
