Hublot Marks 10 Year Anniversary of the Revolutionary All Black Concept With a Celebratory Event
Luxury Swiss watch brand Hublot together with timepieces specialist retailer The Watch Gallery inaugurate the ‘10 Years of All Black’ Exhibition showcasing Hublot’s innovative designs and the latest in Haute Horology technologies. The occasion was marked with a glamorous event held at Searcy’s, located the top of London’s imposing and distinctive Gherkin building.
The dramatic darkness of London’s night sky provided the perfect atmospheric backdrop for an evening themed ‘Invisible Visibility’. Highlights of the event included a spectacular show of lighting and curious entertainment from magic performer Stefan Leyshon including his masterful tricks such as the encasing of the Hublot Big Bang Unico Black Magic timepiece enclosed in a ball of ice (pictured above).
Guests were invited to review a Hublot retrospective exhibition showcasing of the evolution of the pioneering Hublot All Black concept. From the beginning in 2006 with Hublot’s first iteration of the unlikely pairing of black rubber and ceramic, boundaries were challenged in order to overcome the traditional view the sole purpose of a luxury timepiece is to tell the time. Hublot had the foresight to believe that much more was required in the making of an icon of design. And henceforth Hublot continued this pioneering spirit to the present day with the demonstration of science and engineering to develop the expertly crafted Big Bang Unico Sapphire All Black. This distinctive and unmistakable Hublot timepiece features an innovative transparent case formed of smoked sapphire featuring the in-house UNICO chronograph movement.
Special guests who joined LVMH Watch Division President and Hublot Chairman Jean-Claude Biver at the celebratory event included; The Watch Gallery Chairman David Coleridge, Chelsea FC Head of Global Commercial Activity Christian Purslow and Chelsea FC Coach Antonio Conte and celebrated Chelsea goal-keeper Carlo Cudicini. Also in attendance was Hublot brand ambassador and creative designer Maxime Büchi, Hublot brand friend sports personality Alan Shearer and watch collector and Hublotista Ambassador Andrew Luff.
LVMH Watch Division President and Hublot Chairman, Mr Jean-Claude-Biver commented “It is a real pleasure to be in London today and present the unique history of Hublot. The concept of invisible art began in the 1980’s with the renewed appreciation of the technology and accuracy, which lies beneath a watch dial. This instinctive appeal and sense of desire created by the all black watches is a unique and personal interpretation of art”
Benoit Lecigne, Hublot UK France and Eastern Europe Brand Director said “On behalf of all the international team at Hublot, I can confirm we are delighted to share this monumental occasion in the brand’s constantly evolving history. We are proud to have The Watch Gallery join us in celebration of a shared passion to strive for excellence in innovation and timepieces development”
