With the Edition Unitas 1Z, MeisterSinger paid tribute, on the occasion of its 25th anniversary, to one of the most significant models in the brand’s history: the first enamel edition launched in 2004. This new anniversary edition takes up the defining elements of that historic piece, notably its genuine enamel dial and its richly decorated Unitas pocket watch caliber, and sets them within a contemporary creation.
This particular edition now comes in a second version. The new Edition Unitas 1Z Blue keeps all the technical and aesthetic features of the first model, while offering a fresh interpretation with a light blue enamel dial. For the first time, MeisterSinger is thus using colored enamel for one of its dials.
A rare variation of an enamel dial watch

Alongside the white version presented last spring, the Edition Unitas 1Z now appears in a light blue shade, subtly enhanced by black, medium blue and red accents that create a refined chromatic harmony.
Genuine enamel dials are particularly complex to produce. This traditional craft is today mastered by only a few specialists and requires years of experience. During several successive firings, a fine enamel powder is applied to a copper base and then fired at temperatures of around 800 degrees Celsius. The slightest variation in temperature or firing time can cause cracks, warp the dial or render it unusable. The rejection rate is therefore particularly high, making each successful enamel dial the result of great artisanal precision and a great deal of patience.
The heat-blued steel hand displays exactly the characteristic shade of blue expected from these components made with exceptional care.
Mechanics at their finest

At the heart of the watch beats the legendary ETA/Unitas 6497 pocket watch caliber. Its generous dimensions fill almost the entire 40 millimeter case specially developed for this edition. Thanks to the wide transparent case back, the movement becomes the focal point of the watch and helps make it a highly sought-after collector’s piece.
For the Edition Unitas 1Z Blue, the caliber benefits from refined decoration with Côtes de Genève, blued screws as well as a swan-neck fine adjustment. With a frequency of 21 600 vibrations per hour, it combines traditional construction with excellent rate stability.
Limited to 25 pieces

Like the first edition, the Edition Unitas 1Z Blue is limited to just 25 pieces worldwide. It is aimed at collectors and enthusiasts who appreciate traditional craftsmanship and the exceptional beauty of watchmaking mechanics in a single-hand watch.
