Glashütte, September 2014. Golden timepieces of the very best caliber: Ermine, Cicada, and Sable show three entirely new sides of the shape watch Lux from NOMOS Glashütte.
With dials in gray, lemon yellow, and aubergine, the watchmaking company is keeping it bright. Despite their extravagance, the three rose gold gems are NOMOS Glashütte through and through—handcrafted high-end watches, produced with an incredible attention to detail.
The tonneau form of the golden timepiece Lux has become a touch more slender in these three new models—which flatter particularly delicate ladies’ wrists. Elegant and modern, they forego pomp, circumstance, and ceremony with typical NOMOS nonchalance; at the same time, they are the essence of what traditional Glashütte watchmaking can achieve.
Visible through the sapphire crystal glass back, the caliber DUW 2002 presents the abilities of the prize-winning watchmaking company, which produces the very finest in-house movements under the name NOMOS Glashütte Deutsche Uhrenwerke: exclusive sunbeam polishing, screwed gold chatons, swan neck fine adjustment, and much more. The hand-engraved balance cock reads “Mit Liebe in Glashütte gefertigt” (lovingly produced in Glashütte)—and is also a promise that the very best is mostly hidden from sight.
And the names? Ermine and Sable, usually unwearable, denote colors as fine as fur—and a new way to wear them: politically correct, on the wrist. Lux Cicada chirps along with its beautiful tone. All three watches are available with selected retailers from November.
Please note the press embargo until October 15th.
