The Seiko Museum is home to a wide range of exhibits about the history of horology, the development of timekeeping in Japan and the 130 year story of Seiko. This rich resource is now available on-line through the newly updated site and visitors can explore it through its various sections, ‘Our Exhibits and Collection’, ‘Seiko History’ and ‘Timepiece Knowledge’ and others.
The ‘Our Exhibits and Collection’ section showcases our main exhibits with photos, movies and text which help visitors to appreciate the museum from their desktop, as does the ‘Virtual Tour’, introduced already in December.
‘Seiko History’ gives a detailed history of the company and its products, and includes several glimpses of the life and character of its founder, Kintaro Hattori.
The ‘Timepiece Knowledge’ chapter reaches far back into history to chronicle the long and illustrious history of timepieces from ancient sundials to the most modern timing devices.
The new site can be viewed not only from PC’s but also from smartphones and tablets.
We look forward to your visit! And, of course, if you are in Tokyo, please come and visit the Museum in person. It is just a 10 minute taxi ride from the famous Asakusa area.
