Following on from an enjoyable, busy and successful Baselworld, Speake‑Marin has a packed summer ahead

At the end of April, we were delighted to exhibit once again at Baselworld in the Palace. This year, we presented Triad (pictured below), the first piece in Speake‑Marin’s Mechanical Art collection and featuring triple hour-minute indicators celebrating the significance of the number three.

It was a real pleasure for us to meet with collectors, retailers and journalists who visited our booth over the course of the fair. On behalf of the Speake‑Marin team (pictured above), I would like to thank all those who came to see us.

TRIAD BIG HIT AT BASELWORLD

At Baselworld, we unveiled our new Triad timepiece to great acclaim. Triad is the first piece in Speake‑Marin’s Mechanical Art collection and celebrates the number three with triple hour-minute indications over a stunning open dial revealing a micro-mechanical ballet of black and gold gears, all set in a steel case crowned with a regal red gold bezel.

In music, a Triad is a three-note chord. Three notes played simultaneously to provide a single sound rich in emotion, depth and meaning and this is exemplified by ‘3 NOTES 1 MEANING’ written around the bottom right of the dial ring.

The first six Triads will be delivered over the coming weeks, with them destined for the USA, Asia and locally in Switzerland too.

THE NEW SPEAKE-MARIN MOVIE

I warmly invite you to watch our new movie “Welcome to the world of Speake‑Marin” which communicates the essence of Speake‑Marin and gives an overview of our latest collection including the Spirit Mark II, Serpent Calendar, Resilience and specially-commissioned ‘skull’ pieces.

MORE NEW BOUTIQUES FOR SPEAKE-MARIN

The latest Speake‑Marin collection can now be found at three new points of sale around the globe. In Switzerland, Speake‑Marin timepieces are now available at  Le Gotha (pictured above) on Rue du Rhône in Geneva and at the  Atelier Wyss boutique on Denkmalstrasse in Luzern. Our dedicated exhibition space in the latter opens June 4th.

In Hong Kong, Speake‑Marin now has it own dedicated exhibition space in Europe Watch Company’s boutique (pictured above), which is at Auto Plaza, 65 Mody Road, Tsimshatsui East, Kowloon. Visitors there can discover the iconic Piccadilly collection as well as a selection of unique pieces.

And Speake‑Marin timepieces can now be found in Chicago at Sydel & Sydel (pictured above), a one-of-a-kind generational family boutique located at the Adams Street entrance of the Franklin Center, 222 West Adams Street, between Wells and Franklin Streets in the heart of Chicago ‘s Loop.

‘REAL PEOPLE’ PORTRAITS

‘Real People’ is an on-going series of photographic portraits that I am taking, featuring friends of the brand and owners of Speake‑Marin timepieces. The portraits appear on  the Speake‑Marin Facebook page and are published every few weeks.

The subjects are people I have captured on camera during my travels all over the world. ‘Real People’ is a very personal project and I invite you to have a look when you have a moment.

ASIA TOUR AND HARRODS EXHIBITION

At the end of June, I embark on a tour of Asia, starting with Hong Kong and Taiwan (June 25th to June 29th, dates to be confirmed).

In Kuala Lumpur, from June 29th to July 6th, I will be at  Khronos Unique Horlogerie to launch a dedicated exhibition space for Speake‑Marin timepieces. I will be there for the full week presenting key pieces from the Speake‑Marin collection including my very first timepiece, the Foundation Watch.

From July 10th to 15th (dates to be confirmed), I will be in Singapore hosting a series of private dinners.

Then, from August 3rd to 8th, Speake‑Marin timepieces will be on display at the watch fair held at  Tokyo’s Isetan Shinjuku department store. Along with my team, I will be present on August 3rd and 4th on the 7th floor.

Last but certainly not least, pieces from the Speake‑Marin collection will feature in an exhibition devoted to independent watchmakers at  Harrods in London (pictured above), from July 3rd through the summer until August 31st.

SPEAKE-MARIN BESPOKE CREATIONS

Just a reminder that Speake‑Marin is able to offer a bespoke creation service to retailers, collectors and groups by creating limited editions or unique pieces for a wide range of budgets and tastes such as this unique piece with 18K gold dial, hand-engraved then plated with a technique called ancient platinum.

VISIT TO THE USA

Later in the year, in October, I will be visiting the USA. We will have more details about this tour in our next newsletter.
