Rolex Four Seasons: four unique Cosmograph Daytona at auction

On 28 September 2026, Rolex will hold an exceptional auction in London in partnership with Phillips. Named Rolex Four Seasons, this initiative will bring together four unique versions of the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona, each inspired by a season. The funds raised will go entirely to the Federer Foundation and to Re:wild, as part of the Perpetual Planet Initiative.

Four watches, four interpretations

For this unique series, Rolex chose to work around the colours and materials associated with spring, summer, autumn and winter. Each Daytona keeps the same mechanical base, but benefits from a particular combination of precious metal, natural stone and gems.

The Spring model is made of 18 carat white gold. Its dial is crafted from chrysoprase, paired with lepidolite counters. The hour markers combine purple sapphires of various sizes, while the bezel receives 36 trapeze-cut purple sapphires, representing around 5.57 carats. The lugs and the crown protection shoulders are set with 54 brilliant-cut diamonds.

For Summer, Rolex chose 18 carat Everose gold and a turquoise dial, whose counters are made from the heart of ruby. The bezel is set with 36 trapeze-cut pink sapphires, for around 4.32 carats. Here again, 54 diamonds are placed on the lugs and the crown protection shoulders.

Autumn adopts 18 carat yellow gold. Its mookaite dial is paired with chrysoprase counters and green tourmaline hour markers. The bezel holds 36 trapeze-cut green tourmalines, for around 4.32 carats, complemented by 54 diamonds on the lugs and the crown protection shoulders.

Finally, Winter stands out with its 950 platinum case. Its dial is made of blue opal with lapis lazuli counters. The hour markers combine baguette-cut diamonds and square-cut diamonds, while the bezel receives 36 trapeze-cut sapphires in a gradient running from fuchsia to blue.

The calibre 4131 at the heart of the four watches

Behind these aesthetic differences, the four chronographs rely on the same movement: the calibre 4131. This automatic movement offers around 72 hours of power reserve and holds Rolex’s Superlative Chronometer certification.

Keeping the same mechanical architecture makes it possible to focus the customisation work on the materials, the stones and the dials. The four watches thus become as many interpretations of a single emblematic model from the manufacture.

An auction in support of two commitments

Beyond their watchmaking character, these four Daytona were designed with a philanthropic goal. Rolex has joined forces with Roger Federer and Leonardo DiCaprio as part of its Perpetual Planet Initiative.

The Federer Foundation, created in 2003, notably supports projects that allow children in southern Africa and Switzerland to learn, play and grow. For its part, Re:wild, created with the involvement of Leonardo DiCaprio, works to protect and restore ecosystems in collaboration with local and indigenous communities.

The four lots will be offered at auction on 28 September 2026 in London, in partnership with the Phillips auction house. Rolex states that all of the funds raised will go to the two organisations.

A new approach to the unique piece

With Rolex Four Seasons, the Geneva manufacture once again explores the territory of the unique piece. While the Cosmograph Daytona remains instantly recognisable, each example here has its own combination of materials and stones.

More than a simple aesthetic variation, this series brings together three dimensions: fine watchmaking, the craft of gems and philanthropy. Above all, the 28 September event will gauge collectors’ interest in these four unprecedented interpretations of a model that has become a landmark in Rolex’s contemporary history.
