It is a world where responsiveness, technical mastery and determination play a central role, all values that the DS Action collection aims to express on the wrist.
Padel as a stage for watchmaking expression
A fast-growing sport, padel stands out for its intensity, its rapid rallies and its strategic dimension. Every point demands anticipation, precision and adaptability. For Certina, these qualities are a natural extension of its watchmaking philosophy.
The Swiss brand got involved in the discipline as early as 2021, becoming the first watchmaker to actively support it. Today, this relationship is reflected in the design of the new DS Action models, whose colour contrasts borrow some of the visual codes of the courts and the energy that drives the players.
On a black base, touches of orange, blue and teal add depth to the dials and external components. Colour does not play a purely aesthetic role: it asserts a sporty personality and underlines the contemporary character of these new versions.
The two DS Action Diver 38 mm models favour a compact, technical approach, while the DS Action Chrono models adopt a more generous size and focus on measuring short intervals of time. Two complementary interpretations of the same ambition: to offer watches capable of keeping up with the action without giving up their watchmaking identity.
DS Action Diver 38 mm: a dive watch with a strong personality
With their 38 mm case, the new DS Action Diver models are aimed at dive watch enthusiasts looking for a restrained diameter without compromising on performance.
The stainless steel case features a black PVD coating, which reinforces the technical look of the whole. The rotating bezel is made of matte ceramic, a material prized for its wear resistance and its ability to keep its appearance over time.
Two versions are available. The first pairs black with orange accents, while the second opts for teal. These colours appear notably on the dial elements and the bezel graduations, creating visual continuity between the different parts of the watch.
Certina offers two bracelets to accompany these variations: a stainless steel bracelet with a black DLC coating, for a uniform look, and a matching silicone strap, more geared towards sporting use. This choice allows owners to change the character of the watch according to their preferences.
The black dial features indexes and hands coated with Super-LumiNova®, to maintain good legibility in low-light environments. The date sits at 3 o’clock, while the screw-down crown and screw-down caseback help protect the movement.
The Powermatic 80 calibre, built for endurance
Both DS Action Diver 38 mm models are powered by the Powermatic 80.611 automatic calibre, featuring Nivachron™ technology. Its 80-hour power reserve means the watch can be left to rest for an entire weekend without necessarily needing to be wound before it is worn again.
Resistance to demanding environments is another key element of this collection. Certified to the ISO 6425:2018 standard, the new Diver models are water resistant to 30 bar, or 300 metres. They are thus designed to meet the specific requirements of dive watches.
The domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating completes the specification, combining protection and legibility.
With a diameter of 38 mm and a thickness of 13.2 mm, these two new models bring together the attributes of a contemporary dive watch in a relatively compact silhouette.
DS Action Chrono: precision at the pace of the game
The two new DS Action Chrono models take an approach more directly focused on measuring performance. Their 42 mm stainless steel case, also treated with black PVD, houses a dark dial punctuated by colourful details.
Orange and blue are the two visual signatures of these chronographs. The first version plays on the contrast between black and orange, while the second pairs a black aesthetic with blue accents inspired by the world of padel courts.
The bezel features an aluminium ring and the strap comes in silicone or rubber, depending on the reference. The whole keeps a sporty look, with dark surfaces that highlight the coloured elements.
The dial incorporates the chronograph functions, with 30-minute and tenth-of-a-second counters, as well as small seconds. The date display completes the indications available for everyday use.
Precidrive™ technology for greater precision
The DS Action Chrono models are powered by the Swiss Made G10.212 quartz calibre, which benefits from the Precidrive™ technology developed by Certina. It is designed to deliver high chronometric precision, particularly relevant for a watch built around timekeeping.
Like the Diver versions, these chronographs benefit from the DS Concept Extreme Shock Resistance, an evolution of the protection philosophy developed by the brand. The reinforced dial, the secure mounting of the movement and the reinforced sapphire crystal help protect the watch against shocks, vibrations and impacts.
Water resistance also reaches 30 bar, or 300 metres. The elements treated with Super-LumiNova® make the indications easier to read when light levels drop.

Behind these four new models lies one of the cornerstones of Certina’s identity: the DS Concept, for Double Security. Developed over more than six decades, this approach aims to strengthen the protection of the movement and the watch’s overall resistance.
With the DS Concept Extreme Shock Resistance, the brand takes this philosophy further by reinforcing several construction elements. The dial, the movement mounting and the sapphire crystal all contribute to protecting the whole, so it can better withstand the stresses of shocks and vibrations.
This pursuit of reliability is part of a history dating back to 1888, the year Certina was founded. Since its beginnings, the Swiss house has developed timepieces designed to combine precision, endurance and robustness.
