A chronology of excellence. The house was born in 1839 from the partnership of Antoine Norbert de Patek and, from 1845, watchmaker Adrien Philippe, inventor of the pendant winding mechanism that did away with the key. The manufacture specialised very early in the most demanding complications. In 1932, the Stern family took over and launched the Calatrava, the archetype of the dress watch. In 1976, Gérald Genta designed the Nautilus, a sport-chic steel watch inspired by a ship's porthole, followed in 1997 by the more casual Aquanaut.
The reference in complications. Perpetual calendars, minute repeaters, split-seconds chronographs, astronomical watches: Patek Philippe masters the entire repertoire and regularly pushes the limits with unique pieces and records of complexity. This expertise, combined with deliberately limited production, sustains rare desirability and strong value retention.

Since 2009, the manufacture has certified its production with the Patek Philippe Seal, an in-house standard covering precision, finishing and lifetime service, replacing the Geneva Seal.
